This small tool will help you to get rid from green water. I am using this inside open air sump filter for large open air Koi pond. The water was completely green with 6 inches of visibility. After using this continuously for 2 days I was able to see 4 feet inside water. It’s not crystal clear, but green water problem is completely resolved now. There are multiple parameters to get crystal clear water, so don’t think that UVC will give you that. You need to create bacteria colony for clear water. I have 20 Koi and few mollies in pond, so it is very difficult to get crystal clear water. But I got quite satisfactory clarity in water with visibility till bottom of the pond.One precaution is that never use this directly inside pond or never look at it. Another important point is that keep the UVC light where the waterflow is very high. I am keeping this light near inlet pipe of sump and inside 1.5 inch PVC pipe. It is working perfectly. Don’t run UVC more than 3 hours daily after getting initial treatment. The switch of UVC will be very hot if you are using it continuously. And lastly you should take precaution for keeping electrical equipment near water, specially if you have open air pond.Who are giving negative review, either they has no idea to use this or got defective / duplicate item.

Please don’t buy items. It killed my three angels, two white polar parrots, and two polar parrot blue. I’m really depressed and angry. I would have handled the seller if he comes in front of me.

Only use it for 2 hours a day…more than that will kill your fishes..i recommend move out your fishes to a bucket ..and then turn on your sterilization…after the water is clear ..add fishes after 2 hours

Is safe… this is supposed to be used in external filter
Should not be used directly in to the aquarium.It is meant to be used in sump filter (external filter).Uv lights are really good if used properly.
