Good phone and nice brand
This is my second lava phone, and mostly will continue to use this brand again. I like the simplicity. I like the idea of not paying for what I don’t use. I don’t need wireless charging to say as example. This phone is apt for me. The screen is super smooth and responsive, 5G, adequate processing power for my usage – work, messages, maps, occasion YouTube for a quick reference. No heating as there is zero bloatware with unwanted services running on the background. 33w charging although I like phone to slow charge overnight when I sleep. On a single charge usable for over 2 days. Surprisingly my previous lava after 3 years still comes for more than 2 days ona single charge. So efficient battery management. Thanks to no bloatware again. I prefer my dslr for photography. This is just to snap documents or a broken tile to show or share to someone. But I the camera is fine for natural portraits too. Calls and sounds are clear. Options of service at home. Reasonable price and proudly Indian. Looks premium. Comes with a case. No further shopping for protective accessories. Still has a headphone jack. Needs more and better marketing. This should be an international brand.

Budget phone but great performance
This is a budget phone. Price ranging from 10k to 12k. But the performance is very good and does exceeds expectation. Easy to use and setup. Battery life is as advertised.Brightness under direct sunlight is average. Loudness is ok considering its a single speaker device. Camera is good enough for this price range. Call quality is good and it supports both 2.4/5Ghz Wifi spectrums. 5G bands are available and phone is set to default on 5G. If you want to use 4G Sim, change it under settings to 4G, otherwise wont be able to use cell service.Overall, a good purchase in this price range.

Do not buy if you are planning to use it outdoors
Overall works fine. But water droplets gets inside the device very easily. If any kind of problem occurs during the warranty period due to moisture it’s not covered under warranty so you have to pay the full amount for the repairing of the device Because any kind of physical and water damage is not covered under warranty. So leave your device inside home during monsoon or pay 3k – 5k each time you repair your phone during warranty period also.

Good Phone With Some Major Misses
I switched over to this one from Google Pixel, primarily for one reason : unavailability of parts and accessories. I broke my screen once and had to get a replacement at a cost of new budget phone. That pinches and doesn’t feel right. Anyways, this phone is quite similar from usage point of view. Here are some of the Pros and Cons:Pros:1. Stock Android is always a better option. It’s not available in most of the brands. In India, only Lava and Motorola are offering it I think. Motorola phones have heating issues (from reviews I’ve seen and read). This phone offers stock android, so no bloatware. Plus point with Lava is, they offer some customizations like Call Recording, Youtube in Background, App Lock, etc. I found that better than Google as I used to miss App Lock.2. Battery: Battery backup is good, lasts for 1+ day with good amount of usage (including videos, browsing, a bit of casual gaming and calls etc.). Fast charging works well in this one, charges from 25/30% to 90% in 30-45 mins. I find that quite good.3. All other things are normal, good to use, all functions work well. I’ve not noticed any particular issues in 3-4 days of continuous usage.Note: It’s Bluetooth icon flickers while you switch Bluetooth on. It’s not a bug, they’ve made it fancy. It’s basically looking for connection, once connected, it becomes normal. I initially thought it’s a bug, but realized that’s how they’ve built it :)Cons:(Update after few months usage) I’ve observed an issue related to notifications on certain apps. There’s a feature in phone to disable apps when not in use, it doesn’t work properly and I don’t receive notifications even after allowing background usage of apps. This was a big turn-off. Though it’s only with 2 apps but I may not buy Lava phones in future as it’s basic functionality related issue. Their development team was not able to fix it.Below are some nagging issues that you may find odd but may get used to them over time.1. Screen Size: I feel there’s no need to provide 6.78 inches screen when the phone is not built like a gaming phone. Size could’ve been a little smaller for ease of usage.2. Touch: Again because of long screen size, “sometimes” you may face problem while swiping across screen (closing apps, going left-right, etc.). But, I noticed, this became smoother after installing tempered glass. Maybe it has something to do with screen sensitivity. Anyhow, again it could’ve been avoided with smaller screen size.3. Sensor: While calling, since I switched from smaller screen to longer/larger one, “sometimes” while I’m on call, the sensor doesn’t respond well, as I’ve not gotten used to the positioning of phone till now. This is again because of larger screen size and will get better with more usage.4. GPS Navigation: I noticed couple of times while booking Uber, the current location it picks is not very accurate. It doesn’t happen if you’re at one place for long time. But if you’re (say) in market, it may pick the location of your last shop rather than current one. So, be careful there. If it sustains, I’ll have to speak with them and find a solution. This is the only thing I don’t like about it till now, as this is important for me and relates to basic functionality.Neutral Points:1. Screen Brightness: It’s bright enough in sunlight. Some reviews on youtube suggest it’s less, I was concerned, but it is absolutely fine. Once you set it to high brightness, it looks fine. Though, I feel, Auto-Brightness function could’ve been built in better way. It doesn’t adjust to environment properly. Indoor brightness remains high sometimes and it feels too bright to “my” eyes.2. Heating: I’ve not noticed any heating issues while using it. While charging, it heats up a little, but all phones do and it’s normal, it cools down by the time it reaches around 90-100%.3. Camera: If you’re not a photographer and are not very particular about every single detail in pictures, you’d find it absolutely fine. Google phones have excellent cameras. This one is not as good. But since I need it for casual usage, it’s fine by me.
