Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is an infectious disease. Which is caused by a newly discovered coronavirus?

Most people infected with the Covid-19 virus will experience moderate to severe respiratory illness and recover without special treatment. Elderly people and those with basic medical problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease and cancer are more likely to have serious illness.

The best way to prevent and slow down the infection is to learn more about the Covid-19 virus, the disease that causes it, and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using alcohol-based rubs frequently and without touching your mouth.

Covid-19 virus is mainly spread by saliva droplets or nasal discharge. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, it is also important that you practice respiratory etiquette (for example, coughing in a bent corner).

At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for Covid-19 for. However, many clinical trials are underway to evaluate possible treatments. The WHO will continue to provide up-to-date information as soon as clinical research becomes available.

Restrictions

To prevent infection and reduce the slow spread of Covid-19 of, do the following:

  1. So wash your hands regularly with soap and water or rub with alcohol-based hands.
  2. Keep a distance of at least 1 meter if you and people are coughing or sneezing.
  3. Avoid touching your mouth.
  4. Cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  5. If you feel uncomfortable, stay home.
  6. Avoid smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.
  7. Practice physical distance by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.

Symptoms

Covid-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.

Most common symptoms:

  1. Heat
  2. Dry cough.
  3. Fatigue
  4. Less common symptoms:
  5. Thrush and pain.
  6. Throat sore throat.
  7. Arrhea Diarrhea

It usually takes 5-6 days for someone to become infected with the virus to show symptoms, but it can take up to 14 days.

Prevention and treatment

There are no vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infection. Treatments are only helpful. Many antiviral targets, such as viral proteases, polymerase, and entry proteins, have been identified. Drugs are being developed that target different stages of this protein and viral replication. Many vaccines are being developed using different methods for different human coronaviruses.

There are no antiviral drugs to treat animal coronavirus. Vaccines are available for IBV, TGEV, and canine corvine, although their effectiveness is limited. In the case of coronavirus outbreaks of highly contagious animals such as PEDV, measures such as the destruction of entire herds of pigs can be used to prevent them from spreading to other herds.
